The 33-year-old actress shared a sweet photo of her smiling alongside her formerThe Secret Life of the American Teenagercostar at theGotham Awardsat New York City’s Cipriani Wall Street on Monday, Dec. 2.

“The queen who grew up me up @mollyringwald,” she shared alongside the snapshot.

Ringwald, 56, also shared a photo of the reunion on her Instagram Story, writing, “Made my night.”

Both stars looked stunning at the event with Ringwald wearing a sparkling black gown with cut outs and Woodley stepping out in a pinstripe black blazer and matching dress shirt. She completed the look with red wine pumps.

As fans may recall, the ’80s teen icon starred as the mother of Woodley’s character onThe Secret Life of the American Teenager, which aired from 2008 to 2013.

In October, Woodley revealed onVanity Fair’s “Scene Selection” that shewasn’t familiar with Ringwald’s workbefore starring on the ABC Family series.

“Like, every one of my parents’ friends were like, ‘You’re working with Molly Ringwald!’ ” she added. “And I was like, ‘What is her … Why? I don’t get it.’ Because I had never seenBreakfast CluborSixteen Candlesor any of her films.”

For Woodley, being unfamiliar withJohn Hughes filmsthat made Ringwald a star in the ‘80s as part of theBrat Packturned out to be a good thing.

“I got to know her as just this, like, beautiful older sister motherly figure to me, who was really protective of honoring, like, my authenticity as a young person and who I was and just being, like, a kiddo playing a kiddo,” she recalled.

“She protected me in that way,” Woodley added. “and I’m so thankful for that because there is a pressure for people to grow up very quickly, especially when it comes to Hollywood.”

TheBig Little Liesstar also reflected on learning about storytelling and “the types of messages that I want to be putting into the world or maybe not putting into the world” while working on the show.

“Secret Lifewas a great opportunity to learn those lessons at a very young age,” she explained. “It was a fun journey and it was a great time, and I definitely learned a lot.”
