Two brothers are working hard to keep aChristmastradition alive!

The exchange started in 1987 when Ryan hilariously gifted Eric the candy — knowing his brother wasn’t a fan of the treat.

The following Christmas, Eric then re-gifted the snack to Ryan, prompting the brothers to create a tradition of sending the candy back and forth. Ryan an Eric even keep a log of each time the candy has been repurposed.

Two New Hampshire brothers have gotten their holiday regifting skills down to an art, and have been passing the same hard candy treats back and forth for over 30 years. Starting in 1987, Ryan Wasson gave the treat to his brother Eric Wasson as a joke for Christmas, knowing that Eric wouldn’t like it.

The siblings have also found creative ways to bestow the snack during the holidays.

This year, Ryan asked alocal Facebook groupfor creative ideas. Some suggestions included using pizza delivery, Christmas carolers or a scavenger hunt with clues.

Added Eric: “They melted one year, so they look pretty sad. So we’ve got the original box and then we’ve got a new box. Then they both go out, so the old ones are pretty sad. I wouldn’t try those.”
