He turned to me and said, ‘Mom, I’ve got a confession to make,’ " she recalled. “He was very serious.““He said, ‘I’m just gonna come out with it. It’s hilarious, it made me laugh,” Winslet admitted of her son’s statement.The actress also opened up to Kimmel about how her older children are handling the ongoingCOVID-19 pandemic. “I think it’s rough on the teens…I think it’s hard on all of them,” she explained.Winslet said her eldest son, Joe, is “very musical” and has been able to “Zoom with his mates and make a lot of music.“TheAmmonitestar also said Joe will also be learning to drive soon.“In England you can learn to drive when you’re 17 so that I think is going to become part of his lockdown as well, driving lessons. I think that’s something he’s really excited about,” Winslet said.However, the actress admitted that she will “definitely not” be the one teaching her son how to drive. “I’ll leave that to my husband,” she said ofEdward Abel Smith, who has changed his name for a second time. “I’d get too frustrated I think. I’ll stick to the baking.”
