ThenewFantastic Fourmovie made a fantastic addition to its cast:Julia Garner!
The Emmy-winningOzarkstar has joined theMarvel Cinematic Universeproject as a version of the Silver Surfer, PEOPLE confirms.Deadlinefirst reported the casting.
A rep for Garner did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The actress, best known for playing Ruth Langmore onOzark, earned three Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for her work in theJason Bateman-led Netflix drama. She was also Emmy-nominated for playingAnna Sorokinin the Netflix miniseriesInventing Anna, and was due to portray pop starMadonnain a big-screen project that has since beenput on hold.
Among her other upcoming projects is the horror movieWolf Manopposite Sam Jaeger and Christopher Abbott and Natalie Erika James' thrillerApartment 7A.

The Fantastic Fourwill bring the iconic characters back to the big screen following the most recent version, a 2015 remake outside the MCU starring Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. Previously, two films in 2005 and 2007 launched the foursome into superhero cinema with Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis in the same roles.
John Krasinskialsoplayed a parallel versionof Reed Richards in the MCU’s 2022 installmentDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige toldEntertainment Weeklyin 2023 that “Fantastic Fouris the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There’s certainly been [film] versions of it, but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us.”
