Farong’s coffin

In 2011 , archaeologists in Datong City , China , discovered a tomb , dating back around 1,500 years , which contains the remains of a woman call Farong , who was buried with fantastic jewellery . Gold earrings

Two gold earring were constitute beside Farong ’s skull in Datong City , China . The orotund stone seen at the bottom of the ikon are both amethyst . An range of a function of a human trope ( whose identity is unnamed ) are figure at the center of the earring . The human figures are flanked by dragons .

Shaped like teardrops

Three teardrop - regulate amber designs dress the side of the earrings . These decorations were inlaid with gemstones . Gold chains also hung down the position of the earrings .

5,000 beads

A necklace , made of well-nigh 5,000 astragal , was also found near the skull of Farong . Most of the beads are very diminutive and have light-green and black colors . While the thread of the necklace had disintegrate , the beads were still in their original localisation and archaeologists were able-bodied to reconstruct the necklace .

Simple epitaph

An epitaph was ground by the tomb ingress . It simply read ( in translation ) as " Han Farong , the wife of Magistrate Cui Zhen . " In China , the surname is traditionally spelled first and the given name second .
