Hasbro ’s 6″ line of Star Wars action frame , the Black Series , launched a decade ago , and has gone on to give usmany capital representations(and some not so slap-up ) of Star Wars Cuban sandwich and villains from across the galaxy . It is , however , absolutely insane that it will take until 2024 for the line to give us a secondPadmé Amidala . Two !
Over the weekend at MCM London Comic - Con , Hasbro lifted the lid on a few more Star Wars toys guide to our coltsfoot early on next class . Reveals for the Vintage Collection serial publication of 3.75″ figures traverse the saga , from a new Count Dooku to a newfangled Clone Trooper and even a Finn , found on his appearance in The Force Awakens ( the first expressed sequel trilogy human body from Hasbro since The Rise of Skywalker released ) . The Black Series line also teased a novel celebration of the first movie of the prequel trilogy with two figures .
A young Anakin Skywalker anatomy based on The Phantom Menace will pit the first time that the child version of the Chosen One will ever be a part of the Black Series , but the 2d , Padmé — based on her handmaiden fighting dress from the pic ’s climactic Theed battle — scar only the second time that she has appear in the figure line at all . Her first appearance , based on her Tatooine / Geonosis look from Attack of the Clones , was all the way back in 2019

Do n’t get me wrong , it ’s great that we ’re scram a new one ( although she does front like she ’s get a scrap of a eldritch head sizing affair going on with her sculpt ) , but Padmé is one of the main character of the prequels . She ’s have so many looks across the film , and sure , not all of them would make for in particular activeness - packed action at law figures — I do n’t care , give me a traffic conoid in the configuration of that gorgeous , iconic Queen Amidala dress!—but it ’s still completely wild that this only the 2d metre in what will be almost 11 years that such a hugely important character will get some military action frame representation . You ca n’t study two sentences through a Hasbro Star Wars pressing liberation without a new variant of Din Djarin being foretell !
The Black Series has hada spotty historyin representing female Star Wars characters over its running — there was anot - insignificant periodof time where the first and only Princess Leia pattern in the blood washer chainmail bikini lookfrom Return of the Jedi — but has gotten infinitely good in recent years at including a estimable assortment of characters from across the saga . Hopefully it wo n’t take another five years until we see Padmé again — along with many other fictional character from The Phantom Menace and other picture still waiting for their moment on the toy ledge .
