Confession : I ’ve never read The Walking Dead . But one thing I do know is that my home state of Georgia is the respectable place you could ever possibly set a zombie TV show . Here are seven reasons why .

Georgia therefore offers up a reasonable bit of booster who ’ll deal with the end of the world in challenging ways , emotionally and psychologically . The waiting is over ; what are you suppose to do now ?
The Survivor Groups
How often do you see lonely zombie fighters ? Never , because that would be horrifically bleak . A primal theme of these narration is that community imprint even in the bad circumstance , even in the wake of apocalyptic disaster . It does n’t even matter if the protagonist wants ship’s company . And so survivor groups , with all their complicated dynamics , are typically a key ingredient of the drama in a zombi moving-picture show . How will these disparate person find a way to work together , to trust each other ? Think of their grocery shopping in 28 Clarence Day Later , or the mall collage in Dawn of the Dead ; when the societal group coalesces , it ’s a gravid mo . When the fragile residential area fractures under the strain , it stand for serious son of a bitch is about to go down .
And it ’s this area where Georgia really shines as a setting . The state offers rich , untapped dramatic potential difference , thanks to the complicated changes process by the 20th century . There are a lot of fault descent that could recrudesce under the variant of the end of the world . There ’s New South and Old South , rural and urban , rich and pitiful , black and white . There are the Baptists versus the Presbyterians , and the one local Presbyterian Christian church compared to the marginally less conservative Presbyterian church . transplant from “ up North ” and the locals still living on the family farm that Sherman almost bite . Georgia Bulldogs and those bullheaded transplants still urge on for the Florida Gators .
Most of these division do n’t cause problem in times of serenity . But in the upshot of apocalypse , all bets are off .
