This calendar week on The Walter Bishop Show , we follow the disturbed scientist himself on his quest for a root beer air bladder , almost adjoin some more Bishop relatives , shoot pushy accelerator and watch Peter grow . But mostly , “ The Arrival ” marked the Fringe ’s journey into the deep colored reality of torture pornography — and on another positive note , this instalment was happily piano - free .
A foreign cylinder turns up and Walter freaks out . Methinks the cylinder ( which is not the first of its form ) is a pretty big mickle . Many laboratory instant later we realize that the object is a ulterior torpedo , known as Project Thor ( or a bomb that move around through the Earth as match to around it ) . How delightfully unmated , but still Walter does n’t actually unwrap what the cylinder is and why everyone wants it — and what does the creepy bald hombre who ca n’t taste anything have to do it with it ? That being tell I really enjoyed the new “ bald-pated ” character and his lack of sense of taste buds . Is he an extraterrestrial being ? An immortal ? A test - metro person ? I do n’t know but I enjoyed his involution in this story , good antagonist .
Half way through the episode , it ’s passably obvious that Fox is leaning hard on the “ We ’ll make you love Walter and desire to sleep with Peter ” button . To which I say , fine . Olivia bothers the ever - loving poop out of me , so if you want to fill up this episode with maniacal Walter consequence and Peter anguish porno , so be it . I ’ll watch him get zapped in the brain over and over ( but only because I have deep seeded paternal issues and long to express my inner turmoil by get someone hurt ) . Oh , and for some reason watch him get brain - profane is blistering , red-hot , red-hot .
Case in point on thing Olivia does that get at me : What ’s that you say ? Peter has probably been taken to a dark graveyard in the middle of the dark ? Splendid , I ’ll go by myself and take the air around with no backup , since the fate of the public is depending on me , and what - not . Oh , Olivia — while I assume that since you are in the FBI and come along to be a sassy and classy lady , your conclusion and easy luck continually irk me to no death . It ’s no lie that J.J. have it away a firm distaff role , but right now I ’d rather watch tantrum of robo - madam Nina over your distraught “ I ’m bemused but I ’ll picture it all out in the nick of clock time ” plot line . Plus does anyone else opine she ’s a teentsy - morsel gun trigger well-chosen ? But by the oddment all is return to its place , besides that bomb thing that could destruct the human race . But who cares ? Peter ’s got sexy bruises and Walter is calm again . The “ help ” may or may not come in back after getting inject in the cervix with sedative drug from Walter , which she totally has a right to be pissed about , but if she ca n’t forgive him after his endearing “ I ’m a foolish old man ” excuse then her heart is a block of sparkler . Overall Fringe is commence to originate on me , specially with the awesome improver of baldie . I enjoy the Peter / Walter chronicles and my dislike for Olivia has n’t forced me to give up on her completely . Hopefully the big comeback at the end of the episode will give her more deepness .
Oh and finallyFringe Televisionpoints out that when the crew was in the Bishop family plot , the assumed granddad in fact is not a pappy at all . He died too soon to be Walter ’s dad , so what is his significance and why did the torturer seem to hump him ? Is he an immortal , like baldie ?
