Fishermen bag 23-foot-long giant squid off of Florida

Last Sunday , fisher 12 statute mile off the coast of Stuart , Flordia found themselves with a mollusk of a taradiddle to tell some folk — they had sneak a specimen of Architeuthis Dux , or the Atlantic Giant Squid .

Sadly , the fisher did not consume the squid to absorb its brackish cephalopod wisdom — they passed it on to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute and the University of Florida . Unlike other recent squid sightings , this one did not possessthe power of flight of steps .
