The singer and songwriter, 74, addressed the online criticism her sister received after wearing a replica of theDallas Cowboys' cheerleader uniformwhile performing at The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Commanders.
The ensemble — which featured a white vest with blue stars, a chest-baring blue crop top, white short, and a bedazzled piece of mesh that covered Dolly’s midriff with crystal stars — as made headlines, somepraisingthe 77-year-old singer for the outfit and othersquestioningwhether she should have donned the outfit at her age.
In response to the criticism, Stellawrote on X(formerly known as Twitter), “I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving.”
“To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say f— yourself. Shame on you not her,” she added.

She wasn’t the only one that has come to the defense of Dolly. On Monday,The Viewco-hostWhoopi Goldberg, 68, alsoresponded to people criticizingthe country superstar’s attire.
“Bite me,” Goldberg said.

Goldberg’s co-hostSunny Hostin, 55, noted, “If I looked like that in one of them Cowboy things, I might have everything out.”
She also said while pointing at a picture from Parton’s performance,, “I don’t know if that’s a belly ring or what, but I want what she has.”
Parton kicked off the halftime show with her beloved song “Jolene,” later transitioning to another classic, “9 to 5.” She also performed her cover of Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
