Cynthia Nixon is addressing the removal ofChris NothfromAnd Just Like That…in the wake of sexual assault allegations against him.

TheGilded Agestar, 55, opened up about the decision in an interview withEntertainment Tonightpublished on Thursday.

“I think we were very lucky that those changes were able to be made,” said Nixon. “And I think we are very proud of our show.”

Noth thendenied allegations from a third womanwho accused him of rape in aDaily Beastreport. At the time, his rep claimed “the story is a complete fabrication” and “read like a piece of bad fiction.”

When singer Lisa Gentilecame forward with her allegationsagainst Noth, she claimed the actor said he’d “ruin” her career if she “ever told a soul about what happened.” At the time, Noth’s rep did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the matter.

Nixon, Parker, 56, andKristin Davisspoke out in a previous joint statement.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegationsagainst Chris Noth,” the statement read. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
