Star Wars might have only just got done withone TV serial , but it ’s already on to the next — andAndormight be one of the most intriguing shows in the galaxy far , far forth so far , if only for the immense span of time it ’s proceed to incubate .
Chronology in Star Wars shows ( and hell , the franchise in ecumenical ) has always been a little unearthly — the musical passage of time has n’t really matter so much in shows like Clone Wars or Rebels , set during a very specific timeframe of events , or The Mandalorian , which has a much broader , unexplored place setting in the post - Return of the Jedi existence . Obi - Wan Kenobi , for example , was set over a handful of day or weeks at most , which is wild considering how much really goes on . But the saga ’s next live - natural process series , Rogue One prequel Andor , is go to be very unlike : across two seasons , it ’s cover five age of time for its titular Rebel undercover agent , all the style up to where we meet Cassian in the movie . It ’s going to be very interesting to see just how Andor handles contract such a Brobdingnagian geological period of time like this . Will the tincture radically switch one set of episodes to the next ? How much are we go bad to end up actually seeing of these moments , what happens in between that Cassian will persuade on with him as the serial publication ’ throughline ? It ’s peculiarly intriguing considering we ’re not really going to get to see that quite yet while time of year 1 sets the stagecoach for just a single year of storytelling . clip will , it seems , tell .
